A. Carter

Linstead

Managing Partner

A.C. “Carter” Linstead has worked in a wide variety of senior management and entrepreneurial roles in the utility, construction and telecommunications fields.

In the 1990s, Carter was working in Executive Management at a successful energy audit firm based in San Francisco, while living in Boston with his young bride. The work was rewarding and challenging, albeit with a lot of travel. Carter jokes that if ever a full week went by where he did not fly BOS-SFO, United Airlines would call him just to make sure he was OK.

After two years of transcontinental commuting, Carter and his bride were convinced by his firm to move to San Francisco to navigate the company through the developing California energy deregulation market. Fun Fact: It was during this time that Carter turned down a recruiter urging him to sit and interview for a high profile job with a then exciting premiere energy firm called…. Enron.  Smart or lucky, Carter loved the challenge of where he already was and declined.

After guiding his company to success in the energy deregulation market, Carter was tasked with spearheading an expansion of this Energy focused firm into the telecommunications field.  When the firm decided to later exit the telecom side of the business, Carter did not want to abandon the exciting pioneering business opportunities in the growing IT-Telecom marketplace.  He left the firm and founded a successful San Francisco based telecommunications consulting firm that quickly built a reputation as one of the best and most trusted boutique firms in the industry, serving Global Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 companies, mostly headquartered in the Bay Area. He sold his firm in late 2000s and moved from the Bay Area to Chapel Hill, NC. Three days after his non-compete agreement expired in 2011, he joined up as a Partner with the one firm in his industry that he had consistently seen perform with total quality and absolute integrity, Acculus!

Carter loves business and loves his family. He has a son and daughter who are now winding up their college years and stepping out into the world. And he is still, all these years later, happily married to that same lovely young bride who stuck with him, even back when he was always flying away to one business thing or another.
